Bahrain Chamber wins skills excellence award

Bahrain Chamber was awarded the ‘Excellence in Skills Development’ prize at the 2024 Power List Middle East Awards for its “Star League” initiative.
The award recognises the chamber’s commitment to upskilling its workforce. Emphasising the importance of human capital for achieving strategic goals, the win underscores the business association’s focus on competency development and fostering private sector innovation.
“The Bahrain Chamber serves as a platform for the private sector, aiming for local and global excellence and competitiveness,” said Bahrain Chamber chief executive Atef Al Khaja. “To achieve this, we need a methodology to assess employee efficiency, essentially a competency measurement lab.”
Mr Al Khaja explained that “Star League” is a pioneering programme designed to evaluate employee behavioural competencies in support of the BCCI’s mission to empower the private sector. The project involves in-depth research on challenges faced by businesses, promoting competitiveness through new initiatives, and building a dedicated team to address these hurdles.
He further emphasised the chamber’s continuous efforts to support and develop employee skillsets, ensuring optimal outcomes for Bahrain.
