Alba to host major aluminium conference

MANAMA: Alba will host the Arab International Aluminium Conference (Arabal) 2019 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Scheduled to take place from November 19 to 21 at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa, Arabal 2019 has ‘Shaping the Future of Aluminium in the Arab Region’ as its theme. Bahrain is hosting the event for the fifth time.

Alba chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa said: “Arabal is reputed as one of the premium platforms for the aluminium industry in the Arab world that brings together the who’s who of the aluminium industry across the globe.

“Being the first aluminium smelter in the GCC, Alba is privileged to host the 36th edition of the prestigious Arabal under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minster. We look forward to welcoming our peers and industry experts to showcase Bahrain’s thriving aluminium sector at a time that Alba’s evolution to become the largest aluminium smelter is moving ahead as planned.”

Arabal, which started in 1983, has become an event of international repute, bringing together industry leaders from around the world to discuss current issues in the aluminium sector whilst also exploring investment opportunities.

It comprises a conference focusing on the current industry prospects and challenges, as well as an international exhibition coupled with workshops, site visits and networking platforms.
