Alba hosts delegation of Bahrain Association of Banks to further ESG goals

MANAMA: Alba’s roadmap to meet Bahrain’s net zero emissions target by 2060 was discussed with a high-level delegation from the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB).

The smelter’s executive management team led by chief executive Ali Al Baqali met the delegates including C-suite executives of more than 20 national and international banks operating in Bahrain, led by BAB chief executive Dr Waheed Al Qassim.

During the meeting, Mr Al Baqali presented the ESG Roadmap’s 6 priority areas and initiatives - (1) Decarbonisation, (2) Green energy and aluminium, (3) Circular economy and secondary aluminium, (4) Employee welfare, (5) Collaboration, partnership and (6) Transparency, communications and due diligence.
