Afforestation plan ‘vital for growth’
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has underlined the importance Bahrain gives to the environmental sector.
He pointed out diverse development programmes and initiatives carried out in the era of His Majesty, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted the ongoing progress of Bahrain’s afforestation scheme to attain the desired goals.
Shaikh Nasser was speaking as he received yesterday Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Minister Wael Al Mubarak.
He said that the afforestation plan is progressing according to visions set by the government under the leadership of HRH Prince Salman. He stressed that the scheme will continue developing the agricultural sector to confront the local challenges posed by climate change.
