Additional measures for travellers arriving into the Kingdom of Bahrain

Additional measures for travellers arriving into the Kingdom of Bahrain, effective from Monday, 22 February 2021

The National Medical Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) has enacted additional measures for travellers arriving to Bahrain, effective from Monday, February 22.

Under the updated measures, all travelers are required to undergo an additional COVID-19 PCR test on the fifth day after arrival, in addition to the mandatory tests on arrival. Travellers spending more than ten days in the Kingdom are obliged to take a third mandatory COVID-19 PCR test on the 10th day of stay. Appointments for the COVID-19 PCR tests to be taken on the 5th and 10th day, should be booked using the “BeAware Bahrain” app.

Travellers are required to shoulder the cost of mandatory COVID-19 testing, which has been reduced to BHD 36, and are required to self-isolate until a negative test result is issued following the on-arrival testing. Those who test positive will be contacted by the Ministry of Health.

To ensure the safety of the community, travellers are required to sign an undertaking, indicating that they acknowledge and agree to abide by all travel-related preventative measures upheld by the Kingdom, and are encouraged to download the 'BeAware Bahrain' app.

The Taskforce continues to periodically review COVID-19 screening measures, in order to minimise risk and protect the community.
