‘A hub for global sporting events’
Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, on the tremendous success of the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Shaikh Khalid said the success adds to the series of achievements made by Bahrain in hosting this prestigious event throughout the years. He added that hosting the opening race of the season reflects the high capabilities of the kingdom despite ongoing Covid-19 crisis which is affecting the entire globe.
Shaikh Khalid valued the prominent role of the Crown Prince Prime Minister in cementing Bahrain’s position as a leading hub for organising top international sports events which has positively impacted the business and tourism sectors of the kingdom.
He praised the efforts exerted by Bahrain Motorsports Federation and Bahrain International Circuit to make the Grand Prix a huge success. Shaikh Khalid also congratulated Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton on winning the race.
