47pc students opt for in-person learning

More than 67,000 students registered for the in-person classes, representing 47 per cent of pupils enrolled at government schools, director general of schools affairs Dr Mohamed Mubarak bin Ahmed said yesterday.

The ministry started a link on its website to allow parents or students to choose whether they wanted to attend classes in person or continue online learning.

Today is the last day for them to register their preferences. The ministry has said that students who do not register for in-person attendance will automatically be transferred to the online learning format.

The registration process aims to survey the expected class density to enable the ministry to prepare for mandatory health safety measures in classrooms and buses.
