42 per cent of existing Covid-19 cases among Bahrainis are children aged below 18

Forty-two per cent of existing Covid-19 cases among Bahrainis are children aged below 18, Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Waleed Al Manea said.

He was speaking at a Press conference organised by the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus.

“Statistics reveal that Bahrainis constitute 60pc of the total number of existing cases of which 42pc are children aged below 18,” he said.

He added that travel-related cases were a tiny percentage of the overall number and there was no need to close borders.
