250,000 people vaccinated in Bahrain

More than 250,000 people in Bahrain have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine since the vaccination campaign was launched 60 days ago, making up nearly 14.7 per cent of the total population estimated at 1,701,575 people.

Bahrain started rolling out free vaccines to people as part of a national campaign on December 17.

The shots are being administered from 27 health centres and the King Hamad University Hospital to inoculate 5,000 to 10,000 individuals daily.

Earlier, members of the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19 said Bahrain is ranked third internationally in vaccinations per 100 people, at a rate of approximately 8.4pc.
