Virtual Bahrain 2020 to focus on digital transformation

"Virtual Bahrain 2020" conference and exhibition, focusing on some key topics related to the post-Corona digital transformation, will be held on September 15 and 16.

 

The virtual event, being held under the patronage of Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority, is organised by WorkSmart for Events Management and the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH).

 

The conference will discuss topics such as the continuity of education thanks to eLearning, rapid primary digital health response, and how to digitally manage the supply and demand for food products. In addition, it will review the opportunities for the digital transformation of commercial activities, the safety of cashless transactions, cyber threats, and real-time modern media coverage. 

 

An elite group of prominent local, Gulf, and regional personalities in these sectors will highlight various achievements accomplished during the Corona pandemic. They will also offer insights on how other sectors can benefit from these experiences, in order to enable them to deal professionally with the challenges of today’s “new normal”, as well as ensure the continuity of work while conforming to the highest quality standards.

 

The conference will highlight the role of each sector in strengthening its efforts to effectively sustain the work of all the sectors in minimising the negative economic impact of the crisis. It also aims to encourage digital transformation in the public and private sectors and to inspire business owners to continue business despite the difficult circumstances, as well as encouraging start-up business, especially in the digital field.

 

In this regard, Al Qaed affirmed that the ICT sector had witnessed exceptional changes and rapid developments throughout the world during the current situation, and Bahrain has proven, through a set of distinguished experiences in various sectors, that it maintains a flexible and developing environment following the best international standards.

 

"This event is an opportunity to exchange these experiences with specialists and experts in the field of technology. The continuous directives of the Supreme Council of Information & Communication Technology (SCICT), headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, constantly emphasizes the integration and mutual support between the public and private sectors in the field of ICT as a continuation of the Kingdom of Bahrain's approach to adopting activities that stimulate creativity and development," Al Qaed said.

 

CEO of WorkSmart Events and Management, Ahmed Al Hujairy confirmed that everyone is eager to overcome this crisis, and he is honoured to organise this event that highlights the efforts and accomplishments that support the Kingdom's collaborative work efforts to overcome the effects of the pandemic. “We hope that we will fulfill our role in restoring business morale in the ICT sector in various fields, hoping to lead society to continue innovation and development in the light of current national challenges,” Al Hujairy added.
