Urgent proposal to enforce mandatory curfew submitted

AN urgent parliamentary proposal to enforce mandatory curfew has been submitted.

The proposal, which will be discussed in Parliament on Tuesday, aims to limit the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) in the country.

It was submitted today by Public Utilities and Environmental Affairs committee chairman MP Hamad Al Kooheji and financial and economic affairs committee chairman MP Ahmed Al Salloom who highlighted its urgency given multiple violations of directives issued for people to remain at home.

The proposal suggests implementing a curfew from 6pm until 5am following demands from people to impose a mandatory curfew to ensure people remain at home.
