Temporary Jobs Drop to New Low in Govt Sector: Bahrain Minister

Employees with temporary contracts in the government sectors are on the decline, with their number dropping to as low as 26 this month, revealed Minister of Shura and Parliament Affairs.

In reply to a question by Shura Council member Fouad Ahmed Al-Hajji, Ghanim Fadhel Al Buainain said the government offers temporary contracts only to cover urgent needs.

"Temporary contracts are mostly for covering the absence of an employee who goes out on leave or when the government needs more hands to support some emergency programmes or projects," the minister said.
