Sheikh Mohammed orders more Covid-19 test centres

Abu Dhabi: Several mobile centres to test for Covid-19 will soon be set up across the UAE in a move to speed up testing and results in the country, GulfNews reported.

The drive-through test centres will be established by the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi in line with the instructions of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The centres will be similar to the first test centre which was inaugurated on Saturday by Sheikh Mohammed.

Over the next 10 days, centres equipped with the latest medical technology, will open in Dubai and Sharjah to also serve Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, to provide rapid-response tests for citizens and residents across the UAE.

The move comes as part of UAE’s relentless efforts and precautionary measures to curb the spread of the pandemic and to safeguard the wellness and safety of community members.

The first test centre in Abu Dhabi was developed by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company-SEHA, in coordination with the Department of Health at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

It is the first-of-its-kind in the UAE and fifth in the world.
