NBB opens branch of the future

MANAMA: The new National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) flagship branch at Seef Mall lets customers get familiar with innovations that can automate the way they bank or fully digitalise the banking journey.

Officially inaugurated yesterday in a ceremony held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), the branch is a live demonstration of the bank’s new digital flagship model.

This includes new technology driven tools and resources that help customers – both retail and business – more swiftly and effectively conclude their banking transactions either in branch or online.

Additionally, guests were able to experience other new services aimed at enhancing the customer journey.

This includes an onsite ‘Meet & Greet’ service to help guide and train customers on how to leverage the bank’s new automated transaction machines as well as other digital platforms and services, new dedicated counters and meeting rooms for business customers (corporates and small and medium enterprises – SMEs), who can now transact online through NBB’s Business Online Banking, as well as differentiated services for priority customers.

The ceremony was attended by the bank’s board, led by NBB chairman Farouk Almoayyed, and included management and staff alongside long-standing business and retail customers, partners and the media.

Mr Almoayyed said, “We are grateful for the patronage and support of the CBB, which continues to give unprecedented support to the kingdom’s financial industry. This includes providing the right framework and foundation to help banks innovate, adapt and ensure that we can take our market leadership forward in a sustainable fashion. We are very proud to launch this new flagship branch of the future and of the many other innovations underway to make banking more efficient and seamless for all of those we serve.”

The bank’s chief executive Jean-Christophe Durand said, “The official launch of our flagship branch at Seef Mall is the culmination of NBB’s vision for transformation and creating an ultimate service model that combines the best in digital and automation with real life customer engagement and interaction to deliver value and the most effective and efficient service in the market. We look forward to building on the enhancements of the Seef branch and to rolling out these new innovations, products and services to the rest of our network.”

At the event, Bahrain Fintech Bay (BFB) chief executive Khalid Saad delivered a presentation on the collective efforts underway to drive the advancement and adoption of financial technologies to meet evolving customer demands.

NBB is a founding partner of BFB, the region’s biggest fintech hub.
