Gulf Air and Sabre Launch their Ramadan Initiative

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain 05 May 2019: As the Islamic world welcomes the holy month of Ramadan; Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Sabre, the leading technology provider to the global travel industry, today launched their Ramadan initiative. The project sees the two trade partners collaborate to collect tangible and monetary donations by placing donation boxes at Gulf Air Headquarters and the Bahrain Financial Harbour to encourage the spirit of giving – a fundamental value of the holy month.

The tangible donated items vary from clothing and school supplies for kids, to canned goods and household kitchen electronics and supplies. This Ramadan initiative further strengthens the long-standing ties between Gulf Air and Sabre, and builds on both companies’ principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and giving back to the community.

Gulf Air is committed to reaching out to the communities it operates in, and to lending a helping hand to the needy and the less fortunate. Most recently, the airline collaborated with the Royal Charity Organisation to launch an ongoing initiative aiming at activating social responsibility by encouraging travellers to donate excess money change by placing it in special envelopes that are located in seat pockets onboard Gulf Air flights.
