Food Truck District attracts 160,000

MANAMA: The Food Truck District has so far attracted more than 160,000 visitors since it was relocated to its new site near Bahrain International Stadium in Buhair in October.

Mandatory measures set by the official authorities are enforced to protect customers from the spread of Covid-19, including social distancing and online orders using barcodes to avoid queueing.

“The district has fast become an essential platform to support projects and empower food truck owners thanks to the flow of people,” said Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).

BTEA chief executive Dr Nasser Ali Al Qaedi said that the new hub, which houses 50 food trucks, is contributing to promoting local tourism businesses.

“The authority has provided the district with all operational services, such as security, power and cleanliness in exchange for nominal fees,” he said.
