Bahrain vows support for industrial sector

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting and developing the industrial sector to enhance its role in the national economy.

HRH Prince Salman made the statement while receiving Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa and chief executive Ali Al Baqali at Riffa Palace.

He noted that the industrial sector has a skilled workforce whose efforts contribute to the realisation of Bahrain’s comprehensive development plan, led by His Majesty King Hamad.

The meeting marked the 50th anniversary of Alba’s establishment. Shaikh Daij presented a souvenir to HRH Prince Salman to mark the occasion.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the company’s achievements throughout the past 50 years, which have strengthened Bahrain’s position in the global aluminium and manufacturing industries.

HRH Prince Salman also praised the efforts of the chairman, the board of directors, and Alba’s employees for the company’s success. He wished the company success in its future endeavours.

HRH Prince Salman affirmed the kingdom’s commitment to developing its industrial infrastructure due to the sector’s critical role in providing job opportunities for local workforce.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted that Bahrain will continue to nurture promising sectors in line with the Economic Recovery Plan to benefit the kingdom’s competitiveness and attract further investment.

Shaikh Daij expressed his thanks to HRH Prince Salman for his support to Alba. Shaikh Daij also praised the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s commitment to developing and championing Bahrain’s industrial sector.

Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club high committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
