Bahrain set to host major blockchain conference
MANAMA: More than 300 global blockchain innovators and professionals are expected to attend the inaugural BlockOn 2018 conference today in Bahrain.
The event is being held at the Wyndham Grand, Bahrain Bay, under the patronage of Economic Development Board chief executive and Bahrain FinTech Bay chairman Khalid Al Rumaihi.
Focusing on Redefining Finance, the event will feature a series of seminars, panels, keynotes, fireside chats as well as breakout sessions and will cover a broad range of areas including blockchain basics, regulation, collaboration, E-KYC and future trends.
BlockOn will also offer practical, hands-on learning for participants through business and technical track workshops developed to help executives and innovation leaders better understand blockchain in addition to training developers in the writing of blockchain smart contracts for financial services.
The workshops are being delivered in co-operation with Blockchain Academy Global, a fintech education provider.
Registered developers attending the technical track will get a chance to win enrolment into the Oxford Blockchain programme while registered participants for the business track (C-level) will get a chance to win entry into the Oxford FinTech programme.
The courses are run by Saïd Business School in collaboration with GetSmarter.
