Annual General Meeting & Networking Conference with HE Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of ALBA's Board
FCCIB held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, 27 September at Downtown Rotana.
The gathering brought together FCCIB members to review the Chamber’s achievements, present its financial results, and reaffirm its role in strengthening economic and business ties between France and Bahrain.
The session was led by Mr. Jean-Christophe Durand, FCCIB President, Mr. Waleed Al Rayes, FCCIB General Secretary, and Mrs. Rim Jalali, FCCIB Managing Director. Together, they presented the Chamber’s 2025 Activity Report and Financial Results, highlighting FCCIB’s continued commitment to supporting its members and fostering collaboration between the French and Bahraini business communities.
The AGM was followed by a conference and networking dinner featuring H.E. Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of Alba. In his keynote address, he shared Alba’s strategic vision for international growth, including the acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque.
Aluminium Dunkerque is one of the most strategic industrial assets in Europe, representing industrial excellence and playing a vital role in Europe's manufacturing value chain as the largest primary aluminium smelter in the EU, producing approximately 300,000 tonnes annually, serving the automotive, aerospace, construction and packaging sectors, ranking among Europe's lowest-carbon primary aluminium producers, and benefiting from strong operational and energy foundations.
His presentation provided valuable insights into industrial development and illustrated the strength of knowledge-sharing, expertise, and collaboration between Bahrain and France.
The acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque by Alba for an enterprise value of $2.2 billion supports more than fifty years of strategic Bahraini-French cooperation, uniting two industrial leaders. This partnership strengthens both nations' industrial reach in Europe and accelerates the global transition toward low-carbon aluminium production.
The event was honoured by the presence of H.E. Eric Giraud-Telme, Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
