A record breaker!
Manama: The fifth edition of Bahrain International Air Show was declared a resounding success yesterday, with record-breaking participation and deals.
Deals totalling $5.1 billion were signed at the three-day show and visitor numbers crossed 30,000.
A total of 187 countries took part in the three-day spectacle, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad.
“We have achieved all our goals that were set for this year’s show,” said Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal Ahmed.
“First of all we had more participants from international companies than before, which was a 35 per cent growth.
“We had 66pc companies who came from outside Bahrain to take part in the show.
“Eleven of the world’s top companies in the industry took part.
“We were worried about the amount (that will be signed) from the air show, but as you can see we already signed more than $5bn agreements between countries.”
The next air show will be held from November 19 to 21, 2020.
