15 treasury bills to be listed on bourse

MANAMA: Bahrain Bourse (BHB) is listing 15 treasury bill issues and short-term Islamic lease (Ijarah) sukuk worth BD982 million today.

Issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain, the issues have discount rates ranging between 3.05 per cent and 3.51pc for 3-12 months.

With this listing, the number of treasury bills and Ijarah sukuk on BHB will go up to 29 with a total value of BD1.77 billion.

Meanwhile, the CBB announced that a BD35m monthly issue of Government Treasury Bills has received subscription to the tune of 276pc.

The issue date of the bills is August 4 and the maturity date is February 2, 2020.

The weighted average rate of interest is 2.93pc, compared with 3.11pc for the previous issue on June 30.

The approximate average price for the issue was 98.54pc, with the lowest accepted price being 98.53pc.

With this, the total outstanding value of Government Treasury Bills is BD2.110bn.
